Ian Bennett

A Bay Area native, Ian attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he studied Art History. Ian obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco, School of Law where he was a Senior Fellow of the Thomas McCarthy Institute for Intellectual Property and Technology Law, and received a specialization certificate in Intellectual Property.

Ian’s interest and practice focus in the areas of digital media, intellectual property law and business development began to develop while he was working for audio production equipment developers, such as Digidesign, Euphonix and Avid Technology. Prior to becoming a founding member of Bounkova & Bennett, Ian worked for firms which specialized in technology, art and entertainment law, as well as licensing and merger and acquisition support. Ian has also served as an intern and consultant at the World Intellectual Property Organization in the fields of green technology and international patent and trademark registration.

At Bounkova & Bennett, Ian consistently provides aggressive and attentive counsel to a wide range of corporate and individual clients. Ian serves as the group’s primary counselor in areas of intellectual property enforcement, business structuring, contract disputes and private client needs.

A former professional tennis coach, Ian remains an active athlete as well an avid painter and a dedicated musician who takes pride in supporting and developing the rights and interests of fellow innovators and artists.
